Handcrafted Consulting™ is Caroline Colom Vasquez and Jose Vasquez-Corbalan... two creative entrepreneurs who are living the life they imagined. They are the duo behind Paloma's Nest, one of the most widely recognized brands and shops in the handmade world. What started as a tiny venture at their kitchen table, Paloma's Nest has grown to be one of the top selling Etsy stores, and a leader in the handmade movement. Both Caroline and Jose love mentoring other artists and designers in creative business, and have been doing so for several years through their customized programs.
As Creative Business Educators, Handcrafted Consulting™ is a place for them to connect with, and advise folks on this same entreprenurial journey: whether you're just thinking about starting an Etsy shop or other e-commerce storefront, or building a brand that will take you beyond the handmade community, Handcrafted Consulting can custom craft a mentoring session to take you over your next hurdle.
Caroline and Jose's work, through their brand Paloma's Nest has been featured in numerous design and lifestyle publications, including Martha Stewart Weddings, Elle Decor and Better Homes and Gardens Magazines.
InStyle Magazine named Paloma's Nest one of the "Best Online Shops on the Web" and Fast Company Magazine called them "Etsy Moguls" in their 2010 article titled "Next Decade Dream Jobs."
As business owners, the couple has been quoted in Inc. Magazine, The New York Times, and in business books including The Solopreneur by Larry Keltto, 21st Century Careers by Scholastic, and Spark and Hustle by Tory Johnson. They were personally trained by Etsy in a pilot program to teach the curriculum presented in their workshops.
With backgrounds and experience in product design, interior design, retail and studio management, Caroline and Jose are eager to teach you the beginning basics of selling online and through Etsy- either through one of their workshops, or as mentors to you while you build your brand.
The duo also offers advance workshops and shop critiques to existing Etsy artisans, and one-to-one mentoring for established sellers on any e-commerce platform looking to take their business to the next level. Topics they consult or lecture on include: branding and marketing; wholesale and retail relationships; managing the growth of a handcraft business; the impact websites like Etsy have had on the art and craft world; family businesses; work/life balance for entrepreneurs.
